What inviol can detect in your warehouse

Every warehouse has its own layout, policies and pressure points. inviol's computer vision AI adapts to your environment and detects the specific risks that matter most on your site. Common detection scenarios include:

Pedestrian-forklift proximity

The most dangerous moments in any warehouse happen when people and machines share space. inviol monitors pedestrian-forklift interactions in real time, flagging near-misses and close calls before they escalate. This is the single biggest source of serious warehouse injuries (and one that traditional reporting almost always misses).

Exclusion zone breaches

Whether it's a charging bay, a high-traffic loading lane or an area with overhead crane activity, inviol detects when someone enters a zone they shouldn't be in and logs the event with video evidence for follow-up coaching.

PPE compliance

Hard hats, high-vis vests, safety footwear. inviol detects missing PPE in defined areas and captures the moment on video (with blurred faces), so coaching conversations are grounded in real situations, rather than assumptions.

Loading and unloading zone activity

Dock areas are consistently high-risk zones due to the mix of reversing vehicles, pedestrians, uneven surfaces and time pressure. inviol monitors these areas continuously and flags unsafe interactions that supervisors would otherwise never see.

Speeding and unsafe vehicle behaviour

A forklift travelling too fast through a blind corner or intersection is one of those risks everyone knows about but nobody sees consistently. inviol tracks vehicle speed across defined zones, giving you data on where and when speeding actually happens (not just where you think it happens).

Manual handling and ergonomic risk

Repeated unsafe lifting practices contribute to musculoskeletal injuries, which remain one of the most common and costly warehouse injury types. inviol can flag manual handling events for review, helping identify patterns before they become chronic issues.

How real-time detection works

inviol’s computer vision AI connects to your existing CCTV cameras via standard RTSP feeds and analyses live video in real time. A small hardware processing unit sits alongside your existing recorder and runs the detection models on-site. There’s no need to stream footage to the cloud, replace cameras or install sensors on vehicles or equipment.

The AI has been trained to recognize specific types of safety events: a person walking too close to a moving forklift, someone entering a restricted zone, a vehicle exceeding a speed threshold, a worker without the required PPE. When an event is detected, the system logs it with a short video clip, a timestamp and a risk classification. Depending on your configuration, alerts can be sent to supervisors or safety teams immediately, so response can happen while the situation is still active.

What makes inviol’s approach practical is that detectors are configured to match your site’s policies, layout and risk profile. Zones, thresholds and detection types are set up with your team during deployment, so the system is detecting the risks that actually matter in your environment rather than applying a generic one-size-fits-all model. This also helps reduce false alarms, which is one of the biggest barriers to adoption with AI safety systems. If every alert is relevant, teams trust the system and act on what it finds.

Detection scenarios

inviol covers a broad range of safety detection scenarios across warehouse, manufacturing, logistics and industrial environments. The detectors you use depend on your site, your risks and your policies.

Hand washing

Monitors hygiene checkpoints in food and beverage operations to support compliance with food safety standards.

Cellphone usage

Detects mobile phone use in defined areas where devices are prohibited for safety or operational reasons.

Manual handling

Flags unsafe lifting practices and ergonomic risk events for review, helping identify patterns before they lead to musculoskeletal injuries.

Machine exclusion zone

Dynamic detection zones that adapt based on what machinery is doing, flagging when people enter areas where active equipment creates risk.

Fall from height

Detects activity on elevated platforms, ladders and mezzanines where fall risk is present, including situations where guardrails or edge protection may be absent.

Loading and unloading zones

Monitors dock and loading areas for unsafe interactions between vehicles, pedestrians and equipment during high-pressure loading and unloading operations.

PPE compliance

Detects missing hard hats, high-vis vests and other required PPE in designated areas, logged with video evidence for coaching follow-up

Vehicle speed

Monitors forklift and vehicle speeds across defined zones and flags when thresholds are exceeded. Gives you data on where speeding actually happens, not where you assume it does.

Exclusion zone breaches

Detects when someone enters a restricted area and logs the event with a video clip for follow up.

Pedestrian-forklift proximity

Monitors pedestrian-forklift interactions in real time, flagging near-misses and close calls before they escalate. This is the single biggest source of warehouse injuries and one that traditional reporting almost always misses.

Detection is the starting point, not the finish line

Real-time detection is valuable, but what happens after a detection matters just as much. A safety alert that nobody responds to doesn’t reduce risk. An event that gets logged but never discussed doesn’t change behaviour.

inviol is designed so that every detected event flows naturally into a coaching and response workflow. Events land in the platform with video evidence and context, ready for a supervisor to review, comment on and assign for follow-up. The same events can be compiled into automated toolbox talks, turning yesterday’s near-misses into today’s team conversation.

This connection between detection and coaching is what drives the results inviol customers see. The detectors provide visibility. The coaching workflow is where behaviour actually changes.
